Visa Extension in the Philippines

Yesterday I went to the Bureau of Immigration to help my Korean friend extend his Tourist Visa here in the Philippines. I was surprised to learned that they have now different procedure. I decided to write a blog about how to extend your tourist Visa. Here are the procedure you need to follow.

Requirements for Visa Extension:

1. Tourist Visa Extension form (You can get in the Bureau of Immigration's Public Information and Assistance Counter or PIAC)
2. Photocopy of passport (bio page and the last arrival or latest extension)
3. I-Card (some tellers ask for I-card)

Procedures for Visa Extension:

1. When you arrived at the Bureau of Immigration, get a queuing number and secure the Visa extension application form (below are the questions in the form) from the Public Information and Assistance Counter and wait for your number to be flashed at the monitor.
2. Submit the completely filled out application form queuing number and attachment paper  together with the passport to receiving/assessment officer at window 22, 23, 24 or 25.
   • For overstaying alien/tourist 16-24 mos and above. Fill out an motion of Reconsideration or MR form addressed to the commissioner.
   • 
     
   • Pay the order of payment slip (OPS) at the cashier 26 or 28
   • 
     
   • Submit the OPS with the application form, MR Form, attachments and passports number to the receiving window Counter 30
3. Pay the immigration fees  at the cashier 26or 28 
4. Submit the official receipt with the application form, attachments and passport to the receiving/assessment officer 
5. Claim the passport stamped with the requested extension of stay (window 20)
• Application  with I-card will be released after 1 Hour
• Application without I-card will be released within 1 Hour

All in all, you can get your visa extended for a about 2 hour.
